Still in Elkhart

I hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend. We had a hot and VERY humid start to the weekend but on Sunday and Monday it was beautiful weather (no rain) and cool enough evenings that you could sit outside and enjoy. They do have a lot more 'bugs' in this part of the country, especially these pesky little gnats that seem to swarm around you in the mornings, and that makes taking Murphy on a long walk not very pleasant.

We enjoyed a holiday barbecue with our friends here in Middlebury that was a lot of fun. These are former neighbors of ours in California. They were Air Force and moved from our neighborhood there probably about 1989. They have since retired and bought her family homestead here in Middlebury slowly restoring it to her best recollection from her childhood days. Other than that, we had a quiet weekend, just catching up on things here in the motorhome since we had been in the 'repair' mode for a week of so. Unfortunately, Dick found a leak, 'maybe' as a result of some work they did last week, that will have to be addressed when Haulmark returns to work next week. It is very common here for the RV factories to shut down for the week of July 4 so we're hoping to be in and out pretty quickly next week.

Murphy was pretty lazy this weekend as well since he'd played very hard at daycare last week. I caught him in this pose one afternoon and it makes me laugh at some of the unusual sleeping positions he has.

I'm also attaching a picture of one of 18 quilt flower gardens throughout the Heritage Trail in Northern Indiana. These are absolutely beautiful and are a big attraction as people drive around the seven communities admiring them. This particular one is the largest one called a Pinwheel Garden and is at the Essenhaus Restaurant in Middlebury.

Have a great rest of the week and thanks for following along.
