Wednesday, June 22, Elkhart, IN

We left my brothers in IL on Sunday morning. I-80 has had a stretch of construction coming east around Chicago so we knew if we waited until Monday, traffic would be much worse and delays would have been terrible so we chose to come on Sunday and we breezed right through since they weren't working on Sunday.

We are settled in the Elkhart Campground in Elkhart, IN where we spent last summer and had really hoped not to be back here so soon but we need to get these RV issues taken care of while still under warranty. The weather here in the midwest this spring has been very rainy and more is predicted for this week as well. As I write this on Tuesday night, we had a LOT of rain about 2 hours ago as Dick & I were driving back from Mishawaka, IN about 15 miles away from Elkhart. Even the truckers were slowing down as the rain was coming down hard and the wind was blowing equally as hard. It has stopped for now but there's still a severe thunderstorm warning out for tonight.

Sunday night I went to plug in my computer after getting the motorhome set up, and it wouldn't turn on......NOTHING would happen. DEAD!!!! Dick 'googled' Apple and found there is an Apple store at the mall in Mishawaka so yesterday we took it over there thinking it was the battery or something that could be repaired. Well.........unfortunately, it could have been fixed (it wasn't under warranty any longer) but for what the fix would cost, we decided to get a new one. It wasn't what I wanted to do right now, but I also don't want to be without a computer, so I am now the proud owner of a new MAC. They wanted to warn me that they 'may not' be able to transfer my data if the hard drive was messed up, but fortunately when we got there this afternoon, they were able to transfer everything and so far it appears to be fine.

This morning, Tuesday, Dick took the motorhome to 'Big Foot' in MI (only about 25 miles from Elkhart) to get the leveling system worked on. It hasn't been right since we first got the motorhome and they've talked Dick through a couple of 'fixes' but even that wasn't right so he took it to them today and they thought they had it BUT they don't and he still has to adjust it manually so back it goes tomorrow. Unfortunately, that means 'closing up' our house (which isn't all that bad) but then Murphy and I find something to do while he's gone. Today I took Murphy to doggie daycare (he LOVES that) as it's easier not to have to worry about a place for Murphy when the motorhome is unavailable.

He's one tired puppy after playing all day and now he's going
back tomorrow since we have to close up again so he'll sleep well the
next couple of nights.

Happy Wednesday everyone from rain-soaked Indiana.
