Hello from Casa Grande, AZ

We are getting closer to another summer traveling season coming to an end.  There really was not much sightseeing this past week so I do not have a lot of pictures or stories to share.

We left Cottonwood on Thursday having spent 15 days there at the Thousand Trails Verde Valley RV 'Resort' (they use that word very loosely in the RV world).  We enjoyed this park very much and will undoubtedly be going back.  If we were to tell friends or family where we were, they would not have any idea an RV park was way down in this valley off of Highway 260.  It is a well-hidden treasure if you want peace and quiet with no road, train or plane noise and that is rare when it comes to RV parks.  We did have quite a bit of rain on Wednesday, the first rain we had in a long time, and unfortunately it left Dick's hard work getting the rig looking nice, all spotted again.
Sunset the evening before the rain in Cottonwood
By Thursday morning the rain was over and we headed to Eloy, AZ (just south of Casa Grande) where Dick wanted to get the aluminum on the rig polished.  He did this a few years ago on our truck and the guys made the wheels and any of our other aluminum look like brand new chrome and at a very cheap price.  We were there by noon, they got us right in, so we were able to head back to Casa Grande within a couple of hours and find an RV park for 5 nights before we make our way back to Sun City for the winter months.  I think we are both not sure we are ready to settle down for a few months as we enjoy this gypsy life style but we will see how it goes.   It will be nice to see the kids, granddaughters and friends  in the valley but I know Dick especially will get 'hitch itch' along about January or February.

We haven't been to Casa Grande for a number of years so we found that it has grown considerably and has pretty much all the amenities one would need.   One lady told me Casa Grande is only 30 minutes from Chandler if you would need to go there for something.  That would actually be closer than our going from the northwest valley to Chandler.

We spent Friday looking at various RV parks in this area for future winter visits as we still think there's no place better than AZ in the winter.   We are already talking about when we will leave and where we will go next summer so only time will tell..........

Thought for the day -- Have a good day (unless you have other plans).
